First Homes is a public/private collaborative with major investments from the Mayo Clinic and other businesses in Rochester including the Rochester Area Foundation and surrounding communities. First homes has financed both CLT and non CLT homes.

Northern Communities Land Trust NCLT (Duluth)
NCLT is a local, non-profit, community-supported membership organization that has been working in Duluth since 1990 toward its mission of providing quality, affordable homeownership opportunities for low and moderate income people. NCLT works with numerous housing partners, neighborhoods, and City government to help individuals and families realize the dream of homeownership otherwise unavailable to them. NCLT provides new construction, housing rehab, developer/builders, buyer-initiated program in Duluth.

Two Rivers Community Land Trust (Washington County)
Two Rivers will preserve existing housing in Washington County and provide additional affordable units through new construction and a homebuyer initiated program. The goal for this program is to make housing available to people making 60% of area median income.

West Hennepin Affordable Housing Land Trust Homes Within Reach (Suburban Hennepin County)
WHAHLT provides affordable, permanent home ownership opportunities in suburban Hennepin County to low and moderate-income households. WHAHLT generally buys existing family housing with little or no rehab.

The Minnesota Community Land Trust Coalition members work collectively to:

  • To promote a common agenda including policy and resources that benefits the work of community land trusts.

  • CLT's use different resale formulas to determine the sales price of homes sold by CLT homeowners.
  • Each CLT has a list of mortgage financing options that work with their programs (not all mortgages work with all CLT's).
