Board Members

The 2012 Board Members are:

Victoria Balko: Homeowner Member 
Victoria is a Mental Health Practitioner with Complimentary Support Services. Previously, she served as a Family Specialist with South Side Family Nurturing Center, Crystal Care Home Health, and Access to Employment. Victoria is increasingly involved with several organizations and initiatives in North Minneapolis, most recently as vice-president of Neighborhoods Organizing for Change. She and her son purchased their home in 2007.

Eduardo Barrera: General Member
Eduardo currently is employed by Everyday Energy, developing strategies and opportunities for renewable energy. Prior, Eduardo has worked as the Director of Housing and Real Estate for a housing developer in San Diego, as a policy specialist with MN Housing, the Wilder Foundation, NCDF, NEDA, and CLUES. He has a Master’s from the U of MN Humphrey Institute and has several industry-related certificates. He lives in St. Paul.

Melanie Bormett: General Member
Melanie is a Contract Compliance Officer with the City of Minneapolis Civil Rights Department.  She is additionally bilingual attorney with experience at several law offices where she focused her work on the areas of immigration, employment, and public interest.  Melanie also has many volunteer experiences that she brings to her service on the CLCLT Board.  She and her son live in St. Paul.

Kris Brogan: General Representative
Kris is a Real Estate Consultant to non- and for-profit housing developers.  Prior to her current consulting, she served as Policy Aide to Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton.  Kris has over 20 years of housing, real estate, neighborhood and development experience and has been instrumental in moving numerous projects forward in Minneapolis.  She is actively involved in North Minneapolis and serves on the Victory Neighborhood Board.

Donnie Brown: At-Large Member
Donnie as served as the Community Affairs Manager for the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS® (MAAR) since 2003.  Prior to working for MAAR, Donnie works for African-American Family Services and Pillsbury United Communities.  She is active with several organizations throughout the community.

Leticia Brown: Vice Chair, Homeowner Member
Leticia is a Medical Coder for Allina Health Systems and has worked in the health care industry for 7+ years.  She, her son, and daughter live in a recently purchased CLCLT Homebuyer Initiated Program home in the Shingle Creek neighborhood of Minneapolis. She has volunteered at the Minneapolis Public School in which her daughter attends as well as organized a breast cancer awareness week for her employer.

Mary Christianson: General Representative
Mary is an instructor at Minnesota Life College and is also an artist living in North Minneapolis.  Mary previously worked with Hope Community as Youth Coordinator.  For the majority of her life, Mary has been actively involved in community organizing, environmental/energy efficiency initiatives, and affordable housing advocacy.  Mary was extremely interested in becoming a CLT owner prior to happening upon an ownership opportunity in North Minneapolis.

Cal Greening: Chair, At-Large Member
Cal is the Assistant Vice President and Project Manager of Community Development and Specialized Lending at Wells Fargo Bank.  Cal has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of the Wells Fargo Community Development CLT mortgage product in Minnesota as well as numerous other states. 

Simon Gruber: Secretary, Homeowner Member
Simon is a Junior Scientist and is working toward his PhD at the University of Minnesota.  Simon has studied both Biology and Chemistry over the past several years.  He is a native of the Twin Cities and recently purchased CLCLT Condo in South Minneapolis.  Simon is very committed in assisting the CLCLT grow in our community. Simon is on the Fundraiser Committee and the Executive Commitee.

Prabhakar Karri: Treasurer, At-Large Member
Prabhakar currently serves as a Senior Financial Analyst with Best Buy.  Previously, he has worked for several financial and technology companies.  In 2005, while working toward his MBA at the University of Minnesota, Prabhakar assisted the CLCLT Board by analyzing numerous business plan scenarios with the organization.  Most recently, he has served as an outside advisor to the CLCLT Finance Committee.

Matthew Lasley: General Member
Matt is a Senior Associate Attorney with Oppenheimer, Wolff, and Donnelly, LLP in Minneapolis. He has been practicing in the area of Commercial Real Estate with the firm for 6 years. Over the past few years, he has provided his pro bono expertise to the CLCLT on several occasions. Matt lives in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood in South Minneapolis and has previously served on the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association Board of Directors.

Robert Miller: At-Large Member
Robb is the Vice President of a family owned real estate company, T.E. Miller Development. Robb focuses on retail and multi-family housing projects. Previously, he served as counsel for Target Corporation.  He attended law and business school at the University of St. Thomas. Robb has served on the CLCLT Project Development committee for the past year. He and his family reside in Eden Prairie.

Jeff Tate: At-Large Member
Jeff Tate is a REALTOR® with much of his focus on the neighborhoods of Minneapolis.  Jeff grew up in St. Paul and is active in public policy work in the Twin Cities.

Ahmed Yusuf: Homeowner Member
Ahmed is a Social Worker with the University of Minnesota.  Originally from Somalia, Ahmed is soon to be joined by his wife and son from Bahrain.  His has lived for many years in the East Phillips neighborhood prior to his recent purchase of a townhome located in the Franklin Station Townhomes in the same neighborhood.
